i was still on krakoa when i went home, unfortunately, so i don't really have any updates. it would've been nice to be back home with teddy. what about you? what'd i miss here?
This world has seen much turmoil in recent months. The barriers between realities continued to weaken, allowing people to slip through to and from other worlds. Local sentiment towards metas as well continues to worsen, in some places more than others.
The most recent development is the Guardian Alliance's claim that they are now able to harness the ability to travel between universes and return us home.
no, as much as i want to, i'm not sure i do, either. maybe it's just because i'm getting older and more paranoid, but there's a lot about this place that i don't really trust.
It is the enforcement of faction membership that I do not trust. The same was present in the last realm in which I was held captive, but in Ryslig, the factions were dedicated to service and worship in the name of various local gods. Here, they simply expect us to join because they do not trust us to remain independent.
not to mention, if they really had the power to send us all home, it would be a lot easier to do that than to recruit, house, feed, clothe, and pay us all.
Precisely. One would think, if they resent our presence so much, they would round us up and force us to return home, or at least send us off somewhere other than here.
[ Angela appreciates the dagger greatly, and takes to carrying it around with her. The next time she and Loki are on shift at the theatre together, she does not mention the gift, but she does greet him with a smile and a kiss on the cheek. ]
[Sephiroth will find her at work to present her with a blade maintenance kit similar to this one, complete with whetstone, oil, and leather wax. It's... not wrapped. What's the point of that exactly?]
[This gift arrives the day after Christmas, because it took David longer than expected to get info on where Angela lived and thus get the gift out.
It's only a small envelope, but inside are a collection of vouchers, all handwritten with great calligraphy. They offer Angela a few redeemable options, including a meal of her choosing made by David, two for heroic team ups (with no questions asked), and one more for sharing one not too personal story about Ikol-Loki from their time together.
Finally there is a picture, clearly printed off of a phone. It's one of the Young Avengers together with Loki, with him smiling.]
[ Who is this familiar figure in a green hoodie handing out against a wall nearby? At Angela's work??? A criminal, but also! Her brother. He gives a cheery wave when she's free. ]
[ Angela is working security at the matinee performance today, meaning that by the time she gets off work, it is not altogether too late in the day for social calls. She's surprised to see Loki waiting for her, but it is not an unwelcome surprise. ]
Brother.
[ She does not return the wave, but she approaches with a soft smile on her face. ]
