Of course. My family is of the greatest importance to me, right after taking good care of my sect. I have a teenage nephew at home, who is in need of my guidance and support. The battle against the Fog God is important but I wish I could be at his side.

You have my sympathies for losing your sword, too. You called it the sword of stars. I assume Xiphos is an exceptional sword?

I am glad that you have family you are close to, and saddened that you were taken from them. Not all are so lucky, or so misfortunate.

It is. My ichors, though they lack an impressive title, are also exceptional weapons. Forged from liquid metal, they reshape themselves into any weapon I desire.

That sounds like an extremely useful weapon. It is too bad you lost them, it would be perfect for battle against a variety of monsters here.

I make do with the sword Tsukikage has given me. Most beings are flesh and bone, still, and subject to the damage a bladed weapon can do.

That is true. I have heard we can try to bargain to have items from home brought to us.

I have heard this as well. Have you received any coins, with mysterious origin? Supposedly you can spend them with a witch, Mana, to request items from home.

I have, yes. I would try to get one of my spiritual weapons back but since I don't have spiritual power anymore, I fear they would be no more useful to me than regular store-bought weapons. Or, in case of Zidian, remain completely unresponsive to me.

A weapon you are familiar with, spiritual or not, is still better than a weapon you are unskilled in using. Perhaps your Zidian may not be of use, but other weapons can help us in our fight.

That is true. There is something to be said for experience and ease of wielding a familiar weapon.

Also for the satisfaction of fighting with something which is a part of you, or the person you chose to be, rather than the creature the Fog tries to turn you into.

Indeed. It is in our best interests not to allow the Fog to twist us to its whims any more than we must. We may have no agency over what she does to our bodies and our minds, but our choices are still our own.

I'm going to try. I will try to make my own choices every day. To stay true to the person I was at home.

I don't think it will be easy but some of you have been here for a long time already without letting yourself be twisted into someone you aren't.

If given the opportunity, I would go back in an instant. The fight against the Fog God is my fight, because I am here, but I was pulled from a far more important task back in my world.

My world is mostly at peace right now. It is just my nephew that needs me. But he is a cultivator, too. He would understand.

Then I wish your nephew the strength to carry on in your stead. My universe rarely sees peace, and when it does, it never lasts. But I suppose it is just too big for there to be no strife whatsoever.

The great sects protect one part of a country each.

He will need luck. But he is capable and strong. And he has others who might be willing to guide him though I'd not entrust him to them if I had the choice.
